It’s Called LIFE.
Are you sitting at home, miserable, spending hours on Google looking for the ‘cure’?
Are you avoiding seeing your friends because you’re scared they’ll either expect you to do something you can’t or comment that you look skinny / ill?
Is your relationship suffering because you’re scared of doing something that could cause a flare up?
Stop. That. Shit.
Getting out and living is integral to your healing.
I am NOT saying run a marathon. I am not saying go eat pizza and drink beer. I am not saying go kayaking and hope you don’t soil yourself.
But I am saying that:
- There are social activities that you can do that will add to your health without stressing or tiring you out.
- There are things you can do with your partner that will add to your health without stressing or tiring you out.
- There is exercise you can do that will add to your health that will not stress or tire you out.
- There is a job that you can do that will not make your gut twist with anxiety.
Stop trying to get your health perfect before you actually get out there and start living your life.
(a) You’re wasting time.
(b) You’ll be waiting forever.
(c) LIVING is an important part of your healing.
Here’s the magic:
Getting out and living will help you to bring down your stress levels.
As stress comes down, you lower your levels of cortisol & adrenaline.
When this happens, you activate your parasympathetic nervous system (rest + digest).
And THEN you heal.
NB: Rest IS super important when you’re healing, yes. So choose your activities wisely.
